Fascial Stretch Therapy

Offering fascial stretch therapy in Guelph, Ontario. With my years of experience working with clients and understanding the body’s biomechanics, I assess the body's movements and address where the limitations are. With a treatment and mobility plan, I will help you improve your overall functional movement and athletic performance.

What is (FST) Fascial Stretch Therapy™?

Fascial Stretch Therapy is a pain-free, unique, and complete system of table-based assisted stretching, which focuses on the connective tissue system called fascia, and the joint capsule. These are key elements in achieving optimal movement, mobility, performance, and wellness.

We spend most of our lives in a compressed and stressed state. FST™ has the ability to decompress our joints and ease tension through the tissues while guiding the body into its parasympathetic state, or rest and digest. Whether you are a weekend warrior, performance athlete, or want to achieve better movement and less pain, FST is a fantastic treatment for everyone.

What is Fascia?

Fascia is a widespread connective tissue system running deep around our muscles, bones, organs, ligaments, tendons, and joints. Fascia is the system that holds us together through its connected network.

What can I expect from a FST™ treatment?

Upon your first treatment, your practitioner will ask specific questions, regarding your complaints and health history form. You will be asked to perform a couple of movement assessments regarding your primary complaint. Each session is catered to your needs from a global perspective. For each stretch session, the client is expected to wear stretchy athletic pants, or shorts, and a tank top or t-shirt. All treatments are done on the table with two straps. One strap holds one leg in place, while the opposing one gets moved through different planes of movement. This treatment is interactive and the client may be asked to contract and relax a specific muscle group for the purpose of PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) a technique used to increase a stretch in the body.

The practitioner will give you exercises to help maintain the new ranged of motion achieved after your first visit.
